Learn more about our story and origin.

Founded by animal lovers with a background in Psychology, Puppy Yoga UK is rooted in a genuine passion for the positive impact animals can have on mental health and wellbeing. Research shows that calm interaction with dogs - such as gentle stroking or simply sharing space, can help reduce stress and lower blood pressure.

Our classes are thoughtfully designed yoga sessions, with puppies present to create a soothing, uplifting atmosphere. While puppies may occasionally offer cuddles or brief interaction, much of the experience is about mindful movement, relaxation, and enjoying their calming presence. This balance supports healthy puppy socialisation while helping our guests feel grounded, relaxed, and recharged.

We love seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they leave feeling calmer, happier, and more content - and our growing community of returning guests is a testament to the positive experiences we aim to create.

Session Structure
Each class follows a loose structure, but timings may vary depending on the puppies’ energy levels and wellbeing. The puppies’ comfort always comes first - if they are settled or asleep earlier than expected, we may begin the yoga portion sooner to maintain a calm environment.

Puppy Play-Time

The class usually begins with a 15 minute period where the puppies are introduced to the space and guests. As this may be their first experience in a larger room with new people, reactions vary - some puppies may be playful and curious, while others may prefer to observe or settle quickly. Toys are provided, and guests are welcome to gently engage with the puppies when appropriate. This time is focused on positive, calm interaction rather than high-energy play. Photo opportunities are welcome, while always respecting each puppy’s comfort.

Yoga

You’ll then take part in a guided yoga class designed to help you unwind and relax. Puppies remain in the room during the session, typically resting, wandering briefly, or settling nearby. If a puppy approaches you, you’re welcome to pause your practice for a gentle cuddle, however, many puppies will sleep for much of this time, which is completely normal and encouraged.

Puppy Cuddles

The session ends with a quieter period for relaxed puppy interaction. All puppies are different - some may enjoy gentle attention, while others may nap on a mat, in a bed, or nearby. This final phase allows both guests and puppies to leave the session feeling calm and content.

Benefits

Our classes provide a calm, controlled environment that supports puppies during a key stage of early development. Exposure to new people, gentle handling, and unfamiliar surroundings can play an important role in building confidence and supporting healthy socialisation. The puppies who attend our sessions are between 8 and 16 weeks old and preparing to go to their forever homes, making this a positive and carefully managed introduction to the wider world. We regularly receive feedback from puppy owners noting increased confidence and adaptability after attending our classes.

For our guests, puppy yoga offers both physical and psychological benefits. The guided yoga practice helps improve strength, flexibility, and focus, while the presence of puppies creates a soothing, feel-good atmosphere that can help reduce stress and boost overall wellbeing. Guests usually leave feeling calmer, more balanced, and uplifted.
